 Carbide burrs come with a design that gives them the room to handle various tasks, especially stock removal on many tough materials. Burrs can be used on different types of material. Examples include non-ferrous metals, aluminum, wood, and reinforced plastics. 

You can use carbide burrs on certain metals like steel, aluminum and cast iron, all types of wood, fiberglass acrylics, and plastics. When used on soft metals such as gold, platinum, and silver, carbide burrs are ideal as they will last a long time with no chipping or breaking.
